All bookings are provisional until the signed agreement is received together with the required deposit. Pentland Golf will hold a provisional booking for 14 days, but should another client subsequently wish to book and confirm the same date(s) you will be asked to confirm your booking within 48 hours. Pentland Golf reserves the right to release the above provisionally held date(s) if the deposit is not received.

2. Numbers

The minimum number of players for any golf day will be eight players.

3. Confirmation and Deposits

A non-refundable deposit of £5 per person is required to secure a provisional booking. Should a booking be cancelled within 7 days of the date required, Pentland Golf shall be entitled to charge and invoice the client an additional sum representing the balance of 100% (including the deposit) of the booking.

4. Payment

The confirmed number of players and food and beverage requirements must be received in the Sales Office no later than 7 days prior to the event. Full payment is required upon arrival. Please be advised that if numbers are reduced later than 3 days prior to the event it will be necessary to charge for meals not taken.

5. Conditions of Play

Play will be in fourball format playing from the yellow tees at 7-8 minute intervals. The time allocated for 9 holes is 2 hours. It is the responsibility of each group to keep up with the speed of play. Proper golf shoes must be worn and the dress code adhered to. It is the responsibility of the organiser to inform his/her guests of this. Please note that soft spikes are preferred.

6. Course Etiquette

It is the responsibility of the organiser to ensure that his/her guests are aware of the standard etiquettes of golf. Failure to comply with this will result in the individuals concerned being removed from the golf course.

7. Course Closure

Closure of the course due to inclement weather is rare. However any decision to close is at the discretion of the Golf Course Manager and can be made at any time. Any closure will be advised to the organiser as soon as possible. In the event of the course being closed on the day, alternative arrangements will be made under the terms of our Adverse Weather Policy. Under no circumstances will Pentland Golf be responsible for consequential loss, however it arises.

8. Buggies and Segways

Golf buggies and segways can be booked prior to the event. Use of the buggies by the Golf Day participants is the responsibility of the Golf Day organiser and he/she will be liable for any damage incurred to the buggy or the course. Private buggies and segways cannot be used without prior consent.

9. Liability

We can accept no liability or responsibility for: Loss or damage to belongings. Persons wishing to leave belongings on the premises do so entirely at their own risk. Damage or injury to any visitor or their property. Cover for public liability, property damage and loss, whilst on the club’s property or premises.

10. Conduct and Damage to Property

In the event of guests’ behaviour being unacceptable, the Management reserves the right to insist upon the offending individuals’ immediate departure. Furthermore the client undertakes to pay all reasonable costs incurred in making good any breakages or damages at any of the Pentland Golf properties resulting directly or indirectly from the behaviour or conduct of the client or the client’s guests.

11. Private Functions

You are advised that Pentland clubhouses are also used for private functions. If you visit us when another function is in progress, please give consideration to other users and observe any clubhouse notices in place on the day. It is not possible to hire our facilities exclusively.

Etchinghill Golf Course

Opened in 1995, the original 18 hole par 70 course has since benefitted from the addition of a further 9 holes with 18 separate tees. The course is laid out across two distinctly different settings with 18 holes carved into the hillside overlooking the Elham Valley and the third 9 extending over parkland. The last of the new holes, a 225 yard par 3, combines stunning views of the Elham Valley with a parachute like descent to a green protected by water.

Etchinghill offers extensive facilities to compliment its 27 hole golf course and particularly welcomes families.

A 9 hole par 3 course provides a pleasant and relaxed setting in which to learn and practice the game of golf. There is also an 11 bay flood-lit, all-weather driving range, a putting green and chipping area.

The large convivial clubhouse can seat up to 70 people in the main dining room, food is served throughout the day in the spikes bar and Bistro. The comfortable lounge with its log burner provides the ideal place to relax.

Fully equipped changing rooms and an upstairs conference room complete the comprehensive facilities available at Etchinghill.

Austin Lodge Golf Course

First time visitors to this secluded corner of Kent will return, attracted not only by the quality of the course but by the peace and quiet provided by a layout set in three tranquil valleys close to the ancient village of Eynsford.

You will appreciate the peaceful setting as you meet the challenge offered by the par 73 course which measures a hefty 7,026 yards from the championship tees.

The excellent drainage and natural chalk base ensures play all year round while the large greens ensure a safe landing for even the most errant approach shot.

The fairways are generously wide, but the undulating nature of the valley terrain means that you will need stamina, good course management and an imaginative touch around the greens to truly prosper on this suburb golfing test.

The well appointed clubhouse, boasts a warm and contemporary interior in contrast to its stark Georgian architecture, overlooks the 9th and 18th greens and offers outstanding facilities for visiting golfers.

Boughton Golf Course

Situated between Faversham and Canterbury, the 6,534 yard course, laid out over 160 acres of naturally undulating terrain takes full advantage of its picturesque setting offering fine views over the Kent countryside. It was designed by local golf professional, Phillip Sparks and built in 1993. It has quickly established itself in a county known for its golf courses and is popular with members, visitors and societies.

Designed to challenge golfers of every standard, the course comprises four par 3, ten par 4 and four par 5 holes arranged in two loops of nine holes.

The greens and tees are generously sized and irrigated with water from two ponds. The natural drainage of the land complements the irrigation system to ensure the course is playable all year round. The practice facilities at the club include a covered driving range with adjoining bunker and chipping area. There is also a large 9 hole putting green and a 9 hole Academy Course set in 25 acres of orchards.

The spacious, attractive clubhouse built in the style of a traditional Kentish barn, with clay tiled roof is a welcome retreat from the course. It has a warming ambience and many attractive features including exposed beams and galleried areas.

A brick terrace surrounding most of the clubhouse makes an ideal setting for entertaining.
